The Pontevedra municipality of Cangas is located on the southwestern most tip of the Morrazo peninsula, at the heart of the Rias Baixas, between the estuaries of Vigo and Pontevedra, and flanked by Cies and Ons Islands. It has a population of 25,000 divided into five parishes: Aldán Darbo, Hío, Coiro and Cangas. Its economy is based on fishing and manufacturing.
