The municipality of Ferrol is located north of the province of A Coruña, 72 km from the capital. It has a population of 74,000 divided into 13 parishes, in an area of 82.65 km2. Through the use of its fishing and commercial port, Ferrol is a city oriented towards traditional maritime activities such as shipbuilding, civilian and military shipyards, and several Navy facilities and various tourist beaches.
